Sanford, Florida’s 5 Best Coffee Shops
June 11, 2024 | By Chuck ShaverWhat is the best coffee shop in Sanford, Florida? I’ve been selling homes here in the Sanford area for years, but today we’re talking about coffee shops in Sanford, Florida. My business runs on coffee, so I know how important a good cup of coffee with the right atmosphere is.
So here are my top 5 LOCAL coffee shops in Sanford. These are not in any particular order, but make sure to stick around for the last two, which I just happened to stumble upon, but boy was I glad I did!
Foxtail Coffee Company
First, let’s start with one that you might already be familiar with, that’s Foxtail Coffee Company. Now before you begin ROASTING me for a chain coffee shop as one of the top 5 in Sanford, I’m putting Foxtail Coffee Company on here because, while I truly do enjoy the coffee, I like the location and the feel of this little coffee shop in this two-story building right in downtown Sanford. There are actually two locations here in Sanford, with the other being off of Rinehart Road closer to I-4.
Not only do they offer a wide variety of craft coffee, tea, and basic pastries, but they offer Kelly’s Ice Cream and even a few craft beers on tap from Ravenous Pig! It’s a great one stop shop for the whole gang. Kelly’s ice cream makes their own waffle cones so every time I go in there it smells amazing! Theres a good amount of seating in there to get some work done on my laptop as well.
Palate Coffee
Next, let’s talk about Palate Coffee, which is a volunteer-staffed coffee shop right here on 2nd Street. This coffee spot is right in the heart of downtown Sanford just like Foxtail like I just spoke of. I feel good every time I buy a cup of java here as their mission is to fight against human trafficking. They have a wide variety of coffee and teas, and they typically have a seasonal menu as well with some unique options.
They offer a few small bites along with some pastries. I’ve heard talk that they are looking to expand their store to offer a lounge that serves local beer options. If you ask me, this sounds like the best of both words! I’m excited to see how this turns out.
Caffe Di Riverwalk
Caffe Di Riverwalk is next on my list, and by far has the best view of these coffee shops. This shop sits right under this really nice condo complex that offers a great view of Lake Monroe and it’s a great place to watch the sunrise off to the east. They’ve got a few tables inside and more outside for you to enjoy the water view.
They have a good variety of hand brewed coffee, along with smoothies and breakfast and lunch items. I love their fresh squeezed orange, juice and bagels, but If I’m having a bad day, I like to indulge in one of their desserts. This is located right on the Riverwalk, so it’s a great place to stop in after a nice walk along the water, too.
Hao Bao Bao Coffee (how bow bow)
Now let’s talk about one that you might not have heard of. Hao Bao Bao Coffee just opened up on the South end of Sanford, over by Seminole State College. This coffee shop has a unique back story and supports a great cause. Hao Bao Bao means precious baby in Chinese. Random .. right?! Well, not really..
The owners used to live in China and worked as teachers. They started visiting international orphanages and quickly became aware of the many children with special needs in orphanages and foster homes. They eventually were able to raise enough money through the sale of their own coffee to adopt a baby of their own.
Once the story got out, other families began to come to them asking for their help to raise money for them to be able to adopt. And that’s how this coffee shop came to be. For every bag of coffee beans they sell, $1 goes to support family preservation or adoption costs. Hao Bao Bao Coffee has partnered with numerous families and organizations, doing their part to improve the lives of children and families.
They don’t just sell your plain Jane coffee beans either. They have a wide variety of options from all over the world. They will grind them for you in the shop, or you can take them home whole. They also freshly grind these beans to make each cup of coffee that they serve in the shop.
They have just about every coffee that the typical coffee shop offers, as well as seasonal options, kombucha, protein shakes and other non-coffee drinks. They don’t have much in the way of meals just yet, but they do have some very delicious pastries. I tried the blueberry coffee cake, and it was AMAZING!
I do drink a lot of coffee, maybe too much, but coffee is not my area of expertise. BEFORE I get to my FAVORITE coffee shop in Sanford, if you’ve got real estate needs anywhere here in Florida, simply pick up the phone and give me a call.
Quigley Coffee Company
Next, what I consider to be Sanford’s best coffee shop is Quigley Coffee Company. This brand-new hidden gem just opened right off of Rinehart Road in Sanford. What started off as just a little mobile coffee cart you could book for events, has transformed into this unique and kind of… funky coffee shop.
The atmosphere is playful and bright, with lots of plants and different seating. They even have a skateboard shop at the back called Funk Board Shop. But the best part about this place is their specialty coffees. Yes, they still can make anything a regular coffee shop does, but they have a specialty coffee list that is amazing!
They even have a few breakfast and lunch sandwiches that I highly recommend trying. I tried the FL Boi coffee and the Jammy Sammy. The habanero bacon jam was a perfect addition to this breakfast sandwich. The service is also always 10 out of 10 here and the atmosphere is perfect to get some work done. And don’t worry, you can still book their mobile coffee cart for events as well!
